James McAvoy is such an amazing actor. He can pull of any role thrown at him no matter the time period or the subject matter. He is so underrated in my eyes. Did anyone have to take a second look at Wood in this photo, because at first I thought it was a shot of Abbie Cornish.

In another piece of interesting casting news, Toby Kebbell, best known for his role in RocknRolla has been hired to play the infamous John Wilkes Booth. It will more than likely be a small role, mostly visible through flashbacks, but he is so fitting for the part.

Robert Redford's new movie, "The Conspirator" began filming in downtown Savannah today. Taylor Street around Chatham Square does not look like it usually does. The cobblestone is covered with dirt and several of the homes have red, white and blue draped along the outside.

Robert Redford is on the set with the cast and crew, which drew the attention of locals and tourists alike. Tonight on News 3 at 6, we'll take you to day one of filming and tell you what on-lookers think about the movie being filmed here.

Jay Self, Savannah's film commissioner says the movie is expected to draw $8-$10 million for the Savannah economy.

The movie is supposed to wrap filming on December 15th.

好可怕的林肯造型啊啊啊...

其實我們之前也有Penelope,Wanted,Atonement聯播,可惜都不在同一台(Wanted在HBO其餘因為是環球的所以都在衛視西片台)...

所以說喔...快紅跟很慢才紅的優缺點都有吧.....

太慢紅,紅的時候就已經快要得倦怠症了..(某人竟然給我跑去休息)

太爆紅..還要時時躲著其他嫉妒的人的攻擊...(某弟弟你是不用休息的嗎?)

The Last Station最近好像蠻積極的在各大影展promo,當初我以為他們想參加的是2008年的耶...沒想到又過了一年...

還是要說James的造型好醜...

畫質超好,可是我不愛小麥的扮相,好臭老啊...

而且還配音成德文的是怎樣...我比較愛James的聲音啊啊啊..

另外

James McAvoy has signed on for The Conspirator; Robert Redford's true-life historical drama about the events following the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. Robin Wright Penn will be co-starring.

The script is by James Solomon, who also wrote Redford's Lions For Lambs.

McAvoy will play Frederick Aiken, the lawyer defending Penn's Mary Surratt in the wake of the assassination. Surratt was the only woman charged among the conspirators, and was the first woman to be executed by the United States Federal Government, in 1865. Her trial was somewhat irregular as she was a civilian convicted by miltary tribunal. There's a school of thought that her major "crime" was to be the mother of the conspirator John Surratt, and that her arrest was designed to flush him out of hiding.

Variety reports that this is the first film to come under the banner of entrepreneur Joe Ricketts' American Film Co: formed to tell "historically accurate American stories". Lincoln experts Thomas Turner and Fred Borch, and Pulitzer Prizewinning essayist and short story writer James McPherson are on board as historical advisors. Borch resigned from the Guantanemo military commissions over corruption charges, so we hope his historical acumen is more reliable.

Whether this will affect Steven Spielberg's long-mooted Lincoln biopic is unclear, but it seems very much rooted in the events after Lincoln's death, so the projects could presumably co-exist quite happily. Filming begins next year.

Robert Redford’s Lincoln assassination pic The Conspirator is moving forward and now he has a cast. Wanted man James McAvoy and angular beauty Robin Wright Penn are on board to star in the film, a drama based on the true life story of what happened to the bearded president’s murderers. I’m more interested in what happened his stove-pipe hat.

Robin Wright Penn will play Mary Surratt, one of the Lincoln assassination conspirators and the only one charged with assassinating the president. McAvoy plays an idealistic young war hero who eventually comes to believe that she’s innocent. If they’re the movie’s leads then it is perhaps safe to assume that, despite its salacious title, The Conspirator won’t actually show a lot of conspiring. Instead it sounds like a pre-air-conditioning courtroom drama. Just imagine how bad the witness stand must have smelled.

Shia LaBeouf tops our list of actors offering studios the most return on investment.

LOS ANGELES -- In today's recessionary Hollywood, studio executives are no longer looking to cast actors who will demand upward of $15 million just to appear in a movie and then a hefty portion of the film's revenue. Instead, the ideal package is a big concept with low-paid stars.

Thanks to Transformers (and the most recent Indiana Jones movie) LaBeouf, 23, lands at the top of our latest return on investment list. The young actor was lucky enough to catch the eye of Steven Spielberg who has cast him in many of DreamWorks' most lucrative movies. Because of his inexperience and (until recently) unproven ability to draw in audiences, LaBeouf earned relatively small salaries in films that grossed hundreds of millions of dollars. As a result, for every dollar he was paid, LaBeouf's movies returned an average $160 for the studio.

In order to create our list, we looked at the 100 biggest stars in Hollywood. To qualify, each actor had to have starred in at least three movies in the past five years that opened in more than 500 theaters. We did not include animated films because the actors aren't really the draw (pun intended), and they tend to take pay cuts for voice work.

We added up each star's compensation on his last three films and the operating income on those films and divided total operating income by the star's total compensation to come up with each return on investment number. For the sake of this particular version of our list, we are only looking at the men. We'll have an actress list in a few weeks.

LaBeouf's numbers don't include Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, which came out June 24 of this year. In order for a movie to qualify, it had to have been released before June 20 to ensure two months of box-office earnings before we finalized our numbers.

Coming in second behind LaBeouf is 30-year-old Scottish actor James McAvoy. Until recently McAvoy was best known for his work in the 2006 film The Last King of Scotland where he starred opposite Forrest Whitaker who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Ugandan dictator Idi Amin.

But last year McAvoy was lucky enough to appear in Wanted with Angelina Jolie. The modest-budget action flick earned $342 million at the box office and catapulted McAvoy into the realm of Hollywood's hottest. His small salary on the film meant he was able to offer a huge return to Universal on its investment. Expect his payday to jump for a proposed sequel.

Superheroes do well on our list. Because it usually doesn't matter who is behind the mask (Christian Bale is a popular Batman, but so was Michael Keaton in his day) studios can offer lead actors small paydays. The trade-off for the actor is if the movie hits, like Iron Man, that star will be in a position to demand a much larger payday next time around.

Batman (Bale) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) both make our list. For every dollar Bale was paid his last three films, including The Dark Knight, the studio grossed an average $55, ranking him eighth on our list. Since the Dark Knight was a sequel to Batman Begins, Bale was able to negotiate his salary up but not nearly as much as he will be able to do on a proposed third film, since Dark Knight earned $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

Downey, who until recently was considered such a risky choice that studios were able to pay him a Hollywood pittance, does even better than Bale, placing fifth on our list with a $78 return for every dollar he earned.

Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe, 20, is the youngest man in the top 10. He earns much more for his work in the Warner Bros films than some of his fellow actors, but the Harry Potter movies make such spectacular gobs of money that his salary turns out to be a good return on investment. For every dollar Warner pays Radcliffe, his films earn $93.

Who has killer looks and the chops to play John Wilkes Booth?

Anyone who’s read James Swanson’s thrilling Manhunt or Doris Kearns Goodwin’s Team of Rivals has envisioned who might play Abraham Lincoln and John Wilkes Booth in a movie adaptation and been tantalized by simmering in-development projects involving Steven Spielberg and Liam Neeson or Harrison Ford.

But perhaps news of Robert Redford’s Lincoln-assassination film, The Conspirator, will finally resurrect such colorful historical characters for the screen.

Though the film is primarily about Mary Surratt, who was hanged for her participation in the assassination, Booth is undeniably the killer role. Remember, Booth was a famous actor in his own time who single-handedly impacted history. We’re talking about a murderer who delayed his escape from Ford Theatre so he could deliver one final theatrical line of dialogue: “Sic semper tyrannis.” It’s too surreal to completely fathom a contemporary comparison.

Buried in a Risky Business Blog scoop about Redford’s project, which hopes to shoot this fall, was this nugget: “Producers are out to cast, with James McAvoy said to be at the top of their list for one of the lead roles.” Admittedly, this single line is probably nothing more than a producer’s wish, but I’m intrigued because McAvoy is Booth — has been in my mind since I read Manhunt and saw The Last King of Scotland. Something about those eyes, both charming and dangerous.

Johnny Depp is also a favorite (in my Honest Abe Buffs and Film Geeks Circle, anyway) to play Booth, but the assassin was hunted down and killed at age 26. (Captain Jack is 46.)

Leonardo DiCaprio? Emile Hirsch? Who’s your Booth? McAvoy’s my guy, but I’ll settle for any of these as long as one of these Lincoln films starts shooting soon.
